Cairo - Both tourists and Egyptians are coming in droves to visit the Pyramids. The famous archeological site attracted about 10,000 visitors on the morning of the second day of Eid Al-Adha, according to Ashraf Mohie, director of the Pyramid archeological area.

Eid Al-Adha’s celebrations are currently in full swing. Eid Al-Adha, or the Grand Feast, is one of the two most important Islamic holidays. It lasts for four days and honors the willingness of Prophet Abraham to sacrifice his first-born son, Ismail, as an act of submission to God’s command.

Mohie also added that the number of visitors is expected to increase during the coming two days.

During national holidays, including Eid Al-Adha, people in Egypt usually flock to public parks, like Fustat Park and Giza Zoo, as well as museums, or they celebrate Eid in their hometowns.
