ISIS threats against “Al-Bawaba” violate national security: parliamentarian

Cairo - Egyptian parliamentarian Ahmed Helmy Sharif expressed his solidarity with “Al-Bawaba News” and its Editor-in-Chief Abdel-Rehim Ali  against ISIS threats, saying that such threats violate freedom of expression and Egypt’s national security.

Sharif, who serves as Secretary of parliamentary Committee on Legislative and Constitutional Affairs, said that Abdel-Rehim Ali receives threats on regular basis, calling on Egypt’s security authorities to deal seriously with these threats.

ISIS extremist group threatened “Al-Bawaba News” with their slogan “We Came to slaughter You”, as it published a number of reports in its Arabic edition revealing its plans to target Egypt and other Arab countries.

The group’s members published photos of reports published on Al-Bawaba to discuss the formation of new cells for the group. They called for revealing “Spies of Al-Bawaba News” threatening them of their slogan “We came to slaughter you”.

Al-Bawaba News warned of the bombings that targeted the churches of Tanta and Alexandria, during celebrations of Palm Sunday last April.

Al-Bawaba News also published a large number of secrets of Egypt’s Jund Al-Khilafa group loyal to ISIS in addition to details about Wilayet Sinai terrorist group.
