Egypt's Interior minister hosts Chinese counterpart

Cairo - Egypt's Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar received on Monday (June 19) China's Minister of Public Security Chen Zhimin as part of his visit to Cairo.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed a range of issues of common interest. Chen stressed the importance of Egypt and its critical role in the Middle East. He praised the concerted efforts exerted by Egypt's Interior Ministry to combat terrorism and to retain stability and security in Egypt.

Chen also expressed his ministry's eagerness to provide assistance for Egypt's security forces in the framework of cooperation between the two countries to counter terrorism.

On the other hand, Abdel Ghaffar discussed the latest security developments in Egypt, explaining the repercussions of growing conflicts going on in the Middle East and affecting Arab regional security.

Abdel Ghaffar hailed security-based relations between Egypt and China, stating that his ministry is very keen to interact with other security institutions outside Egypt in light of the current challenges that pose threats to the security and stability of the world at large.
