Pope Tawadros II: Terrorist acts will not affect national fabric

Alexandria (Egypt) - Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese paid a visit on Sunday to the headquarters of the Alexandria Security Directorate.
The Pope was received by the assistant interior minister of the west delta, and the Alexandria security chief, along with other security officials and officers. 
Pope Tawadros offered condolences for police martyrs who were killed in the brutal terrorist attack on the Church of St. Mark in Alexandria. 
The Pope also praised efforts of the security forces for confronting terrorist plots nationwide and appreciated police sacrifices to secure the homeland and the Egyptian people. He added that such terrorist acts will not affect the national fabric. 
The Pope also paid a visit to police forces who were injured in the terrorist attack in the Police Hospital in Alexandria and wished them a swift recovery.

On Palm Sunday, 9 April 2017, two separate bombings took place at St. George’s Church in the northern Egyptian city of Tanta on the Nile delta, and the other at Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, the principle church in Alexandria, and seat of the Coptic papacy. More click here.
